Small group classes are held in my workshop with a maximum of 3 students at a time Students choose either 2, 3 or 4 day packages of tuition. For students who are serious about making progress I can offer 1-1 support between sessions via Zoom.
The teacher/student numbers are very favourable and specific homework will be provided.
For Beginners the programme starts right at the beginning with sorting and preparing materials and runs right through a progressive programme, for intermediates I would expect students to be choosing and focussing on a specific skill or basket they wish to make. Welsh Basket tuition a speciality eg Cyntell, Welsh Shopper, Llangwm Fisherwoman Pannier, Welsh Tea things basket, Penclawdd Cockle Basket (4 days)

Zoom 1-1 tutorials £70 per session (approximately 1-2 hours tuition face to face - demonstration plus observation of student weaving) plus support materials and email support between sessions.
(Bed and breakfast sometimes available with me £25 per night or at Little West Bungalows, Southerndown http://www.littlewestbungalows.co.uk/ (walking distance along the beautiful coast from the workshop). Use of the workshop outside formal tuition times welcome.
Online Cyntell Course via Zoom - 3 Taught Sessions, Instructions and 14" Cyntell Frame set

This is for 1-1 basketry tuition to learn the traditional Welsh Basket, the Cyntell. The price includes a 14" Cyntell Frame and Rib Set for you to use in Session 2 and 3. You will need thick willow for ribs and basketry willow for weaving to complete the course (I can provide this within the UK on request if necessary).
This Online Course of 3 zoom sessions includes full written instructions and forma templates. Each session will be recorded so that you have an individual instruction video to refer to in the future. Individual feedback will be given via Zoom and includes specific skills teaching following a structured programme and suggested homework. Email support is also offered between sessions.

For Canada and USA Willow supplies contact the Branch Ranch. Please note there will be an additional shipping fee for the frame for international students and you will need to source willow for weaving.
Session 1 - Making and using formas to make hoops. Splitting and Shaving willow to make ribs
Full instructions and forma templates will be given after this session.
Time should be allowed for the hoop and ribs to dry.
Session 2 - Weaving the Cyntell - Tying on the first 4 ribs, splitting and shaving additional ribs and shaping the basket
Session 3 - In the round ribs, finishing the weave and finishing details
